About

The fair price standard for UK trades

Every year, millions of people in the UK accept trade quotes without any way to know if the price is fair. Not because they are naive — because there has never been a reliable reference point. Quotive exists to change that.

The problem we solve

A boiler replacement in Manchester costs between £1,800 and £3,500 depending on who you ask. A loft conversion in Bristol ranges from £35,000 to £75,000. Kitchen extensions vary by 40% between the cheapest and most expensive quotes for identical jobs.

This is not fraud. It is information asymmetry. Traders know what the market pays. Customers do not. Quotive closes that gap.

How it works for customers

Upload any trade quote — a photo, a PDF, a WhatsApp message, a pasted email. Quotive reads every line item and checks each one against real completed jobs from across the UK. You get a verdict in 30 seconds: fair, above market, or well above market — with every line item explained. The trader is notified automatically. That notification alone changes how they respond.

How it works for businesses

Traders who send quotes through Quotive get them scored against live market data before they send. The quote arrives to the customer pre-verified, with a Quotive badge confirming the pricing is fair. The customer is not checking the quote — they are reading a verified one. The negotiation never happens. 78% of verified quotes are accepted without a single round of back-and-forth.

The data behind the verdicts

Every quote checked on Quotive contributes to our market data library. Every line item — boiler labour in Leeds, scaffold hire in Bristol, bathroom tiling in London — feeds back into our pricing database. The more quotes are checked, the more accurate the verdicts become. We benchmark by job type, region, and postcode area. No estimated prices. No industry surveys. Real jobs, real amounts, real outcomes.

Who Quotive is for

Anyone who receives a quote. Homeowners getting a new boiler. Renters who need repairs arranged. Couples planning a wedding. Landlords managing portfolios. Developers refitting offices. Property managers overseeing maintenance contracts. If someone has sent you a quote and you want to know if it is fair, Quotive is for you — free, always, with no account needed.

Our position

Quotive does not take referral fees. We do not have preferred traders. We do not let businesses pay to improve their verdicts. We are not on the customer side or the business side. We are on the side of accurate information — because when buyers and sellers have the same information, the market works better for everyone.

Why the job needs to stay on Quotive

Every protection Quotive provides — the timestamped quote check, the questions and answers, the counter-offer trail, the completion checklist, the signed sign-off record, the dispute document — only exists for jobs that go through the platform. If a customer and trader agree to proceed outside Quotive, that record disappears for both of them. This is not a restriction we impose. It is the nature of the service. The record only exists because the transaction went through us. This is the same principle that makes eBay buyer protection work, or Airbnb host guarantees work. The platform is the protection. Without it, both sides are relying on personal messages and goodwill. With it, both sides have an independent, timestamped, unalterable record of everything that was agreed.
